Blogger Alexandra Khadj from Crimea, who has millions of followers, recently discussed the main disadvantage of domestic video hosting platforms during an interview on "Crimea 24." According to her, the algorithm system in these platforms is poorly executed, leaving content creators clueless about how to gain subscribers and what videos become popular.
"They are working on their platforms, trying to improve them, but there is no systematic algorithm work. No content creator understands how to gain subscribers and what type of content becomes popular," she pointed out.
She also added that Russian services are improving, but they are still far from reaching the level where a blogger would prefer to use them as the primary platform to publish videos.
It is worth noting that after the removal of the "Crimea 24" channel on YouTube, the Crimean branch of the Union of Journalists of Russia (СЖР) launched its own video hosting platform in response.
